Yato is a minor, nameless god who dreams of having millions of worshippers. To achieve fame, he takes odd jobs for five yen apiece. His life changes when he meets Hiyori Iki, a high school girl whose soul slips out of her body, and Yukine, a wandering spirit who becomes his weapon. Together, they face dangerous phantoms and gods while forming deep bonds.
