Set in Tokyo, Lycoris Recoil follows two young orphaned teenage girls, Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue, who work for the secret organization Direct Attack (DA) under the “Lycoris” program. They carry out missions involving crime prevention and other dangerous tasks, while ostensibly operating at Café LycoReco, where they do everyday café-tasks like serving coffee and sweets, childcare, shopping, teaching, etc. Chisato is free-spirited and optimistic; Takina is cool-headed and efficient. Together, they navigate a mix of action, moral conflict, friendship, and slice-of-life moments.
